The CH36 Dining Chair by Hans J. Wegner is manufactured with great attention to detail in a simple and functional design. The 1962 design clearly shows the influence that the furniture principles and craftsmanship of the American shakers had on Wegner's work. The legs of the CH36 taper both towards the ground and, at the rear legs, slightly upwards, thus ensuring an elegant appearance. The backrest is significantly more curved at the top than at the bottom to optimize the support of the back. The overall expression is rounded off by the frame and the seat, which is hand-woven from durable paper cord. The chair is also available with armrests – model number CH37 – for added comfort and support.
