Aino Aalto designed housewares for contemporary furnishings following the example of functionalism. Their approach was influenced by the architectural style of modernism, which strives for the honest use of materials and affordable mass production. Aalto's pressed glassware is one of her most notable designs. The collection was inspired by the water rings that are created when a stone is thrown into the water.
