Henning Koppel designed the New York cutlery in 1963 on the occasion of the World's Fair in New York City. Because of its clean lines, in which the form itself becomes the décor, it was seen as a departure in a new design direction. Koppel was an early pioneer of functionalist design. He had made it his mission to design everyday objects that not only looked beautiful, but were also practical. The set consists of a three-piece serving cutlery.
