This luminaire emits a diffuse, pleasant and glare-free light, which is characteristic of Poul Henningsen's reflective three-shade system. The middle and lower shades made of three-layer hand-blown, white opal glass are translucent and create a warm glow of light around the pendant lamp. On the other hand, the upper brass shade with its white lacquered inside emits a delicate, primarily downward-directed light. The opal glass shades have a glossy exterior and a sandblasted, matte inside. They ensure a particularly soft and uniform light emission. Thanks to its design, the pendant lamp is also ideal for hanging high up in the room. Poul Henningsen designed hundreds of luminaires based on the three-shade system he developed in 1926 to provide unsurpassed lighting quality for every conceivable requirement. Many of his luminaire designs include a number in the name. This refers to the shade sizes of the respective luminaire. The PH 3/3 is part of the "Whole Numbers" product series, which is characterized by its attractively compact appearance. The upper shade measures approx. 30 cm.
